Forbidden Fruit
Xavier paints the story of Adam and Eve, using references to nature to emphasize his perspective. The sun substituted with a golden heartbreak, coupled with the erupted volcano reflects God’s disappointment with Adam and Eve for the eating of the forbidden fruit which upset the balance in paradise. Flowers representing nature's eye candy, along with Adam in a meditative state stresses the ongoing need for redemption. The rabbit represents life but also channels a statement Xavier wishes to reflect upon; the possibility that humans are as self-oriented and as vain as they have ever been, from biblical times up until the present day. Making life seem matrix-like.
